Œuvres Pour Deux Pianos

Released in 2021 by the French independent label B Records, this recording features pianists Théo Fouchenneret and Éric Le Sage performing the complete works for two pianos by Johannes Brahms. The project was born out of a close musical collaboration between the two artists, who sought to explore the intricate textures and structural depth inherent in Brahms’s double-piano repertoire, specifically his variations on a theme by Haydn and his sonata for two pianos.

The album was captured with the label's signature commitment to high-fidelity, naturalistic sound, aiming to replicate the intimate atmosphere of a chamber performance. Upon its release, it was well-received by classical music critics for its technical precision and the evident synergy between the performers, who balanced Brahms’s dense romantic harmonies with a clear, articulate approach that avoided the common pitfalls of over-sentimentalizing the composer’s later works.
