Recht oet ’t hart

Recht oet ’t hart was released in 2007 through the label Cd-Hal, serving as a regional musical project rooted in the dialect traditions of the Limburg province in the Netherlands. The album features a collaboration between Herman Lippinkhof and Josien Velberg, two artists who focused on creating accessible, melodic tracks that resonate with the local cultural identity and the specific linguistic heritage of the region.

The production follows a tradition of regional folk and light-pop music intended for a local audience that values sentimental storytelling and dialect-based songwriting. As a release from Cd-Hal, the project reflects the niche industry of regional Dutch music, where artists often prioritize community connection and vernacular celebration over broad commercial reach. The reception remains localized, appealing primarily to listeners within the Limburg music circuit who appreciate contemporary interpretations of regional songcraft.
