Where it came from
Rides Again was released in 2016 through Both Barrels Music as a continuation of Kevin Bloody Wilson’s long-standing career in Australian musical comedy. This release sought to revitalize his iconic repertoire of bush-ballad parodies and irreverent storytelling for a modern audience while maintaining the rugged, unapologetic persona that defined his breakthrough in the mid-1980s.
The album reflects a deliberate return to the roots of Wilson’s discography, focusing on the observational humor and distinctive Australian vernacular that established him as a staple of comedy circuit touring. By blending updated studio production with his signature acoustic instrumentation, the release aimed to honor the legacy of his earlier works while ensuring the material remained relevant to his devoted, multi-generational fan base.
