Where it came from
Rikki's Guns was released in 2011 as a debut project by the Norwegian artist Rikke Cecilie Normann, operating under her independent label, RikkiLeaks. The album emerged from a period of artistic exploration for Normann, who sought to blend elements of soul, pop, and electronic textures to establish a distinct sound within the Scandinavian music scene.
The album reflects a raw, personal approach to songwriting, with Normann taking charge of the creative direction to ensure the final product aligned with her independent vision. While the project remained largely within the underground sphere, it was noted by critics for its emotive vocal delivery and the DIY spirit that defined its production during the early 2010s.
