Rivièra

Rivièra was released in 2004 under the HJDM Music label, representing a collaborative effort between the musician Fred Lloret and the ensemble known as De Copacabana's. The project emerged from a specific niche of European lounge and easy-listening music that gained moderate traction in the early 2000s, reflecting a desire to blend mid-century exotica tropes with contemporary production techniques common to independent European record labels of that era.

The design and artistic direction for the album were crafted to evoke a sense of Mediterranean nostalgia, leaning heavily into the aesthetic of the French Riviera during the 1960s. By pairing Lloret's arrangements with the light, rhythmic instrumentation of De Copacabana's, the production team aimed to capture a breezy, cinematic atmosphere. While the release remained a localized project within the independent circuit, it serves as a distinct example of the revivalist trend in lounge music that sought to modernize classic vacation-themed jazz and bossa nova styles.
