Rivière Noire

Rivière Noire is the self-titled debut album from the multinational musical collective of the same name, released in 2015 on the CPL-Music label. The project was conceived as a bridge between diverse musical cultures, bringing together Malian singer Kassé Mady Diabaté, Brazilian guitarist Orlando Poleo, and French musicians Pascal Danaë and Jean Lamoot. The album emerged from a desire to harmonize African rhythms, Afro-Cuban percussion, and contemporary folk structures into a cohesive, acoustic-leaning sound.

The album's design and sound were crafted to emphasize minimalism and organic texture, focusing on the interplay between Diabaté's traditional vocal style and the intricate, jazz-inflected guitar work of Pascal Danaë.
