Rivière - Le Chant Des Rivières

Le Chant des Rivières is a thematic audio compilation released on the Versailles label in 1999. It emerged during a period when the label was curating evocative, ambient-leaning soundscapes, often designed to accompany relaxation or meditation practices. The release reflects the late-nineties interest in environmental audio recordings, which sought to capture the calming properties of natural elements through high-fidelity field captures.

The design of the packaging utilizes a minimalist aesthetic common to the label’s output at the turn of the millennium. By focusing on the auditory experience of flowing water, the production team aimed to create a sonic environment that could serve as a backdrop for both urban stress relief and creative focus. While the release remains an obscure entry in the broader landscape of ambient music, it is representative of the era's experimentation with nature-based sound design for the home listener.
