Where it came from
Rivières was released in early 2025 by the Damien Brassart Trio under the Collectif Thöz label. The album emerged from the contemporary jazz circuit in France, serving as a reflection of the ensemble's focus on fluid, improvisational structures and chamber-jazz dynamics. It represents a deliberate move to capture the interplay of a modern trio within the specific acoustic and creative ethos fostered by the Thöz collective.
The album's design and conceptual direction were crafted to mirror the flowing, atmospheric nature of the compositions. By prioritizing minimalist aesthetic choices, the artwork aims to ground the listener in the project’s introspective mood. Upon its debut, the record was received by the jazz community as a testament to the trio's technical cohesion and their ability to navigate complex, river-like melodic progressions.
