Where it came from
Rivières De La Nuit was released in 2017 under the Douzième Lune label, serving as a significant entry in Denis Frajerman's extensive discography. Frajerman, a French composer known for his experimental and atmospheric approach to music, developed this project as an exploration of nocturnal soundscapes and abstract textures. The album reflects his long-standing interest in cinematic sound design and minimalist composition, building on a career that spans decades of independent electronic and avant-garde work.
The album's design and conceptual direction emphasize a meditative, introspective quality that is characteristic of the Douzième Lune label's aesthetic. Frajerman focused on creating an immersive auditory environment, relying on layered instrumentation to evoke themes of solitude and the quiet of the night. Upon its release, the work was received by the experimental music community as a focused contribution to ambient-inflected composition, appreciated for its cohesive tone and the technical precision Frajerman brings to his sound-crafting process.
