Where it came from
T-Bird Rhythm, originally released by The Fabulous Thunderbirds in 1982, captures the band at the height of their blues-rock influence. Produced by Nick Lowe, the album represents a critical moment for the group as they balanced their Texas blues roots with a tighter, more radio-friendly sound. This 2013 reissue by Repertoire Records was designed to introduce the band's catalog to a new generation, maintaining the integrity of the original tracklist while providing high-quality digital remastering.
The album's cover art and aesthetic reflect the late-night, roadhouse atmosphere that defined the band's identity during the early 1980s. Repertoire Records, known for its dedication to rock and blues archival releases, opted for a faithful reproduction of the original artwork, aiming to satisfy long-time fans seeking a definitive archival copy. The release was received as a respectful tribute to the late Kim Wilson's vocal work and Jimmie Vaughan’s influential guitar stylings, solidifying the album's place as a cornerstone of the blues-rock revival era.
