The Shape Shifters Present Ex Vandalz

Released in 2003 under the Vandal Squad Records label, this collaborative project brought together the underground hip-hop collective The Shape Shifters with the Ex Vandalz. Emerging from the vibrant and gritty Los Angeles independent rap scene of the early 2000s, the album reflects the era's emphasis on collaborative crew projects, raw lyrical prowess, and the DIY ethos that defined much of the West Coast underground movement at the time.

The album serves as a definitive snapshot of the collective's aesthetic, characterized by complex rhyme schemes and gritty, lo-fi production typical of the Vandal Squad house sound. While the project was primarily circulated within niche hip-hop circles and independent record stores, it remains a notable entry in The Shape Shifters' discography, representing a period when the group was deeply focused on solidifying their reputation through frequent collaborative releases and high-energy studio sessions.
