The Witcher® 3: Wild Hunt

The soundtrack for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was composed primarily by Marcin Przybyłowicz and Mikolai Stroinski, with additional contributions from the folk band Percival. It was produced by CD Projekt Red to accompany the 2015 release of the open-world role-playing game, which concluded the trilogy based on Andrzej Sapkowski's literary series. The music was designed to evoke a distinct Slavic fantasy atmosphere, blending traditional medieval instrumentation with modern orchestral arrangements to reflect the game's expansive, war-torn setting.

The compositional approach focused on creating a deep sense of place, utilizing period-accurate instruments such as the hurdy-gurdy, tagelharpa, and lute to ground the score in the folklore of the region. Upon the game's release, the soundtrack received widespread critical acclaim, with critics highlighting how the music seamlessly transitioned from quiet, introspective exploration themes to intense, driving combat sequences. It has since become widely recognized as a benchmark for thematic storytelling in video game audio.
