Where it came from
The Western Spaghetti, released in 2010 on the German label Part Records, represents a niche exploration of the surf-rock and spaghetti western soundtrack genres. Part Records is well-known within rockabilly and roots music circles for curating high-energy, guitar-driven instrumentals that pay homage to the cinematic sounds of mid-century Italian westerns and the surf aesthetic of the 1960s.
The album reflects a trend of revivalist bands seeking to capture the reverb-heavy, evocative atmosphere associated with composers like Ennio Morricone, filtered through a modern garage-rock sensibility. While the project remains an underground release, it functions as a stylistic exercise, demonstrating the enduring influence of cinematic folk and desert-themed instrumental rock on contemporary independent artists.
