Provenance

Where it came from

Vandaag (Het Morgen Van Gisteren) was released in 2004 as the fifth studio album by the Belgian singer Yasmine, known professionally as Hilde Rens. This collection piece reflects a pivotal moment in her career, blending contemporary pop sensibilities with the emotive, introspective songwriting that defined her tenure as a prominent figure in the Flemish music scene. The release followed a period of artistic transition for Yasmine, capturing a mature sound that resonated with her established audience while incorporating the polished production standards expected of mainstream Belgian pop at the time.

This particular edition includes a bonus disc, Live In De AB, which serves as a companion piece recorded at the Ancienne Belgique, one of Brussels' most prestigious music venues. The inclusion of live recordings was a deliberate choice to showcase Yasmine's vocal range and stage presence, offering fans a more intimate look at her performance style. While the studio album focused on refined, studio-recorded arrangements, the live accompaniment provided a necessary contrast, highlighting the artist's ability to maintain an authentic connection with her audience during live sets.
