Will Alles Wagen - Holger Biege Und Seine Songs von 78/79

Will Alles Wagen serves as a retrospective collection of works by Holger Biege, the influential East German singer-songwriter and composer. Released in 1990 by the Musicando label, the compilation gathers key recordings from the 1978 and 1979 period, a time when Biege was at the height of his creative output in the German Democratic Republic. His music during these years was defined by a sophisticated blend of pop, jazz, and chanson, marked by his signature piano-driven arrangements and thoughtful, often melancholic lyrical themes.

Biege was a pivotal figure in GDR music, noted for his formal training and his ability to bridge the gap between popular entertainment and artistic ambition. The selection of songs for this disc reflects the era's production standards and Biege's commitment to expressive, high-quality songwriting. By compiling these specific tracks in 1990, the release acted as both a nostalgic look at the late seventies music scene and a documentation of Biege's legacy during the significant period of German reunification.
