10 Cents - Elizabeth II (4th Portrait - Koala - Silver Bullion Coinage)

The 2014 Australian 10-cent silver bullion coin is part of a specialized series produced by the Perth Mint, which frequently explores iconic Australian wildlife themes. This specific issue features the koala, one of Australia's most recognizable symbols, rendered in a bullion format designed for investors and collectors who prioritize both precious metal content and aesthetic design. The Perth Mint has a long-standing reputation for integrating high-relief and detailed artistry into its circulating and investment coinage, positioning these pieces as cultural artifacts as much as financial instruments.

The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which was the standard effigy used on Australian legal tender throughout that period. The reverse design captures the koala in a naturalistic setting, reflecting the Mint's consistent goal of celebrating Australia’s unique biodiversity. These coins were received by the numismatic community as high-quality examples of modern bullion, praised for their consistent strike quality and the meticulous detail applied to the portrait of the marsupial.
