10 Euros - Mickey (Fugue à la cathédrale)

The 10 Euro Mickey Mouse 'Fugue à la cathédrale' coin was released by the Monnaie de Paris in 2018 as part of a multi-year collaborative series celebrating Disney’s most iconic characters. This specific issue was designed to honor the intersection of pop culture and French heritage, depicting Mickey Mouse in a whimsical, lighthearted tribute to the architecture and history of Paris. The coin serves as a numismatic memento, blending the traditional technical precision of French minting with the globally recognized aesthetic of the Walt Disney Company.

The design was developed by the artists at the Monnaie de Paris, who aimed to integrate Mickey Mouse into classic Parisian settings, moving away from purely cinematic depictions to a more illustrative, heritage-focused style. Upon its release, the series was received with enthusiasm by both casual Disney collectors and numismatists interested in non-circulating commemorative currency. It is crafted from silver and maintains the status of legal tender within France, though its primary purpose remains that of a collectible art piece rather than a functional monetary tool.
