150 Dollars - Elizabeth II (Blessings of Longevity)

The 2014 Canadian 150-dollar coin, titled Blessings of Longevity, was minted by the Royal Canadian Mint as part of a series celebrating traditional Chinese cultural heritage. It was issued in 2014 to coincide with the Lunar New Year, specifically the Year of the Horse, and was intended to appeal to both numismatic collectors and those interested in cultural symbolism. The coin reflects Canada's multicultural identity and the Mint's established practice of producing high-purity gold commemorative pieces for significant international holidays.

Designed by Canadian artist Simon Ng, the reverse features an intricate illustration centered on the theme of longevity. The design incorporates a stylized crane and a pine tree, both traditional Chinese symbols representing a long and prosperous life. The composition is grounded in classic iconography meant to evoke a sense of tranquility and cultural respect, and the piece was received as a refined example of the Mint's ability to blend artistic storytelling with precious metal craftsmanship.
