Where it came from
The 2018 Fiji 2 Dollar Thanos coin was minted as part of a series celebrating the Marvel Cinematic Universe, timed to coincide with the release of the film Avengers: Infinity War. Issued by the island nation of Fiji, this legal tender coin was produced as a collectible numismatic item to appeal to fans of the Marvel franchise rather than for general currency circulation.
The coin features a stylized depiction of Thanos, the primary antagonist of the Infinity Saga, rendered in colorized detail. The design draws directly from the aesthetic established in the Marvel Studios films, utilizing the high-relief and vibrant color application common in modern bullion-style collectibles. It was distributed through specialized numismatic dealers and has since been viewed primarily as a pop-culture memento rather than a traditional investment piece.
