Adventure Comics #466

Adventure Comics #466 was published in late 1979 as part of a long-running DC Comics anthology series that had become a home for various backup features. During this period, the book was notably used to host the Plastic Man feature, which had been revived to capitalize on the popularity of the contemporary Saturday morning television program. The creative direction for this era often balanced established superheroes with experimental storytelling styles that characterized DC’s late Bronze Age output.

The issue features cover art by Brian Bolland, whose distinct, clean line work and detailed composition were beginning to gain significant attention from readers at the time. By 1979, the comic industry was transitioning toward more sophisticated visual aesthetics, and Bolland’s contribution is often highlighted by collectors for its technical precision and departure from the more traditional house styles of the decade.
