Adventure Comics #477

Adventure Comics #477 was published in December 1980 by DC Comics, marking a significant transitional period for the title. At this stage in its long history, the series had shifted away from its roots as an anthology to focus heavily on the adventures of the Legion of Super-Heroes. This issue arrived during a time when the DC editorial team was looking to revitalize the tone of their science fiction properties, leaning into more serialized, character-driven narratives.

The issue features the work of writer Paul Levitz and artist Joe Staton, who were instrumental in shaping the Legion's identity during the Bronze Age. Staton's bold, clear linework helped ground the high-concept futuristic setting, making the dense lore of the 30th century accessible to readers. The story was well-received by fans of the era for its integration of political intrigue and team dynamics, helping to maintain the Legion's status as one of DC’s most popular ensemble franchises of the time.
