Adventures of Superman #0

Adventures of Superman #0 was released in October 1994 as part of DC Comics' Zero Month initiative. Following the massive crossover event 'Zero Hour: Crisis in Time,' DC reset the numbering of its entire line, with each title publishing a '0' issue to provide readers with a fresh entry point, origin stories, or status quo updates. This specific issue was designed to bridge the gap between the complex continuity established during the post-Crisis era and the publisher's new editorial direction.

The issue features a creative team led by writer Karl Kesel and artist Barry Kitson, who were instrumental in shaping the Superman mythos during the mid-90s. The narrative serves as a pivotal character study of Clark Kent, focusing on his internal struggle to reconcile his dual identity in a post-Reign of the Supermen landscape. It was received by the direct market as a standard but high-quality example of the era's 'event' storytelling, praised for its accessible art style and its effort to streamline the character’s history for newer readers.
