Alice on Border Road #2

Alice on Border Road, a spin-off series based on Haro Aso's Alice in Borderland, was written by Aso himself and illustrated by Takayoshi Kuroda. Serialized beginning in 2015, the series was designed to explore the survivalist themes of the original franchise through a different lens, focusing on the character Alice and the shifting social dynamics within the high-stakes games. The second volume continues the narrative progression established in the debut, further developing the aesthetic of a desolate, altered reality that characterizes the manga's dark visual style.

The reception of the series was largely driven by the existing fanbase of the Alice in Borderland universe. Readers noted the consistent tone maintained by Aso's writing, while Kuroda's illustrations were praised for their ability to convey the tension and psychological weight of the characters' circumstances. As a continuation of the spin-off's inaugural volume, the second issue is primarily regarded by collectors as a necessary component for those seeking a complete record of the franchise's expanded literary landscape.
