All of Us Are Dead #4

All of Us Are Dead, originally titled Now at Our School, began as a digital webtoon created by Joo Dong-geun. Serialized on Naver Webtoon starting in 2009, the series was conceived during a period when the South Korean horror genre was seeing a massive resurgence in both film and television. Joo Dong-geun utilized a stark, visceral art style to depict a sudden zombie outbreak within a high school, focusing on the social hierarchies and desperation of trapped teenagers rather than relying solely on traditional survival tropes.

The fourth issue belongs to the original webtoon run that laid the foundation for the global phenomenon. By emphasizing grounded, claustrophobic settings, the work was designed to explore how young characters reconcile their mundane academic anxieties with an immediate existential threat. Upon its release, the series was received as a seminal entry in the K-zombie subgenre, praised for its unflinching tone and pacing, eventually leading to its widespread international recognition and adaptation into a major streaming series.
