Aquaman #25

Aquaman issue 25, published in early 1966, belongs to the character's first ongoing solo series during the Silver Age of comic books. At this point in his history, the creative team sought to expand the scope of the Aquaman mythos beyond simple underwater adventures by introducing more complex, often aquatic-themed adversaries and evolving the kingdom of Atlantis as a central setting for political and heroic conflict.

The issue features the artistic contributions of Nick Cardy, whose work on the series is celebrated for its dynamic layouts and distinct visual style that helped define the undersea aesthetic of the era. The writing reflected the whimsical yet earnest tone characteristic of DC Comics in the mid-1960s, a period where the publisher focused on solidifying the personal lives and supporting casts of their secondary league of heroes to better compete with a changing marketplace.
