Ben's Bande #2

Ben's Bande is a series of underground comics created by the Belgian artist and musician Ben Gijsemans. This second issue continues the series' exploration of quiet, observational storytelling, following the life of a character navigating the nuances of daily routines and urban environments. Gijsemans, who is widely recognized for his background in fine arts, brings a distinct, painterly aesthetic to the medium, often utilizing deliberate color palettes and static compositions to create a sense of contemplative stillness.

The series is noted for its departure from traditional action-oriented comic tropes, focusing instead on character studies that feel both intimate and expansive. Upon its release, the work was met with appreciation from the European independent comics community for its formal experimentation and its ability to convey profound emotion through subtle visual cues. The design of this issue maintains the minimalist, high-quality production standards established at the start of the series, reflecting the creator's dedication to the book as a tactile, artistic object.
