Boule et Bill - La collection Roba #25

Boule et Bill was created in 1959 by Jean Roba, appearing initially in the pages of Spirou magazine. The series centers on the heartwarming, everyday misadventures of a young boy named Boule and his exuberant Cocker Spaniel, Bill. This specific series, La collection Roba, is a retrospective publishing initiative designed to preserve and re-release the original gag-based comic strips that defined the franchise for decades.

The design of these volumes emphasizes the whimsical, soft-edged aesthetic Roba developed throughout his career. His work is widely recognized for its gentle humor and expressive character animation, which eschewed complex narrative arcs in favor of relatable domestic comedy. Upon release, these archival volumes were received as essential documentation of Franco-Belgian comic heritage, serving to reintroduce Roba’s masterful pacing and character design to a new generation of readers.
