Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Oz #2

Released in 2001, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Oz #2 is the second installment of a three-part miniseries published by Dark Horse Comics. The series was designed to explore the backstory of Daniel 'Oz' Osbourne, a beloved character from the television show, during his time away from Sunnydale. This expansion of the Buffyverse was spearheaded by Joss Whedon and written by Christopher Golden, who collaborated closely with the show's production team to ensure the narrative aligned with the established canon of the series.

The artwork for this issue was provided by Logan Lubera, whose stylistic choices aimed to capture the moody, atmospheric aesthetic characteristic of the show's gothic urban fantasy setting. As part of a wave of licensed tie-in comics popular in the early 2000s, the series was well-received by fans seeking deeper character development for secondary ensemble members. It remains a notable example of how creators utilized supplemental print media to flesh out the internal lives of characters whose arcs were often constrained by television production schedules.
