Cats With Jobs #2

Cats With Jobs #2 emerged as part of a lighthearted pop culture trend that gained momentum in the late 1990s, capitalizing on the immense popularity of novelty coffee table books that anthropomorphized house pets. Building on the successful format of the debut volume, this collection serves as a visual catalogue of cats staged in various professional environments, ranging from construction sites to corporate offices, intended to amuse through the juxtaposition of feline behavior and human labor.

The series was curated and compiled to highlight the whimsical creative photography popularized during the era of the 'pet fad' phenomenon. While the specific photographers involved varied by image, the design aesthetic focused on sharp, high-contrast studio portraiture that prioritized comedic timing. Upon release, the book was received primarily as a gift item, finding its niche in bookstores as a humorous, low-stakes accessory for pet lovers rather than a traditional work of literature or art.
