Civil War: Unmasked #1

Civil War: Unmasked #1 was published by Marvel Comics in 2007 as a direct epilogue to the company's major crossover event, Civil War. Following the conclusion of the main conflict, this one-shot served as a bridge, detailing the immediate political and social fallout from Captain America's surrender and the implementation of the Superhuman Registration Act. The issue was written by Christos Gage and illustrated by Jeremy Haun, functioning as a debriefing that addressed the thematic consequences of the story's central moral divide.

The design and narrative intent of this issue were focused on the 'unmasking' of various characters, providing a grounded look at how the government and the public processed the new status quo. The editorial team sought to provide a sense of finality to the narrative threads left dangling after the death of Captain America. It was received as a functional, necessary coda that provided exposition for the subsequent Marvel universe landscape, helping readers transition into the post-Civil War era of storytelling.
