Civil War: Unmasked #2

Civil War: Unmasked #2, published in 2007 by Marvel Comics, serves as an epilogue to the company's major crossover event, Civil War. Written by Christos Gage and featuring art by Jeremy Haun, the issue focuses on the aftermath of Captain America's surrender and imprisonment. The creative team aimed to provide a grounded look at the psychological and political fallout of the Superhero Registration Act, shifting the tone from high-stakes combat to the quiet, often melancholic reality of a fractured hero community.

The design and narrative direction were intended to bridge the gap between the conclusion of the core Civil War miniseries and the subsequent launch of new titles. By focusing on the personal accounts and reflections of various characters within the Marvel Universe, Gage sought to humanize the conflict's casualties. The issue was generally received as a necessary, character-driven coda that provided closure to the intense ideological divide presented in the preceding months.
