Comic X-Eros #125

Comic X-Eros was an adult-oriented anthology series published by Eros Comix, a division of Fantagraphics Books, which became a significant platform for underground and erotic comic art starting in the 1990s. The series was designed to showcase a wide range of styles from established and emerging alternative comic artists, providing a space for mature themes that were largely excluded from the mainstream comics code. Issue 125 reflects the publication's commitment to pushing creative boundaries within the erotic genre, focusing on highly stylized, narrative-driven adult content.

The visual language of Comic X-Eros was defined by its diverse roster of contributors, who often utilized the medium to experiment with surrealism, satire, and intimate character studies. Unlike commercial erotic magazines of the era, the series maintained a firm aesthetic connection to the alternative 'comix' movement, emphasizing the individual voice of the artist over mass-market appeal. While critically noted for its bold content, the series was primarily received as a niche collector's title that occupied a unique, transgressive intersection between independent publishing and adult entertainment.
