Dark Horse Presents #24

Dark Horse Presents #24 was published in 1988 as part of the flagship anthology series that established Dark Horse Comics as a formidable presence in the independent comic book market. Launched in 1986, the series was designed to provide a platform for creator-owned stories that deviated from the mainstream superhero tropes dominated by the industry's major publishers at the time. This specific issue reflects the anthology's commitment to genre diversity, serving as a laboratory for experimental storytelling and artistic expression.

The creative direction of the series was spearheaded by editor Randy Stradley, who sought to blend established talent with emerging voices to curate a sophisticated, adult-oriented reading experience. Issue #24 is particularly notable for its contribution to the ongoing narrative arcs that characterized the title's early years, emphasizing thematic depth and high-quality production values. It was well-received by critics and readers alike for fostering an environment where creators maintained control over their intellectual property, a revolutionary stance that significantly influenced the modern landscape of independent comics.
