Dark Horse Presents #26

Released in early 1989, Dark Horse Presents #26 served as a key installment in the influential anthology series published by Dark Horse Comics. During this era, the title was instrumental in providing a platform for creator-owned works and experimental storytelling, distinct from the mainstream superhero output of the time. This specific issue is particularly noted for continuing the serialized adventures of 'Concrete,' the thoughtful, stone-skinned character created by Paul Chadwick.

Paul Chadwick, who both wrote and illustrated the 'Concrete' segments, sought to explore complex human themes through the lens of a bizarre, fantastical transformation. His work on this series was widely praised by critics for its grounded realism and philosophical depth, helping to establish the anthology as a cornerstone of independent comics. The series became a vital showcase for artistic versatility, offering a curated experience that balanced gritty noir aesthetics with more lyrical, introspective narratives.
