Dark Horse Presents #84

Dark Horse Presents #84 was published in March 1994 as part of the long-running anthology series that served as the flagship for Dark Horse Comics. During the 1990s, the title was a vital laboratory for creators, often blending experimental storytelling with established genre fiction. This specific issue is particularly notable for featuring segments of the Concrete series by Paul Chadwick, a critically acclaimed creator known for his thoughtful, literary approach to superhero-adjacent themes.

The design and editorial philosophy of the issue reflected the broader Dark Horse aesthetic of the era, which prioritized high-quality printing and a focus on auteur-driven narratives. By providing a platform for both established legends and emerging talent, the series helped solidify Dark Horse's reputation as a publisher that valued artistic integrity. Issue #84 remains a representative example of this era, documenting the transition of the independent comics movement into the mainstream consciousness.
