DC Comics Presents #82

DC Comics Presents #82 was released in June 1985 as part of a long-running anthology series that typically paired Superman with other characters from the DC Universe. This specific issue, written by Paul Kupperberg with art by Eduardo Barreto, functions as a team-up between Superman and the Martian Manhunter, a pairing that reflects the editorial trends of the mid-1980s that focused on highlighting the Justice League's most powerful members in more intimate, character-driven narratives.

The cover art and interior work by Eduardo Barreto are noted by collectors for their clean, crisp aesthetic, which was a hallmark of his style during his prolific tenure at DC Comics. The story explores the cosmic and psychological burdens shared by two of DC’s most prominent extraterrestrial heroes, offering a grounded perspective on their dual identities. At the time of its publication, the issue arrived just months before the company-wide crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths, positioning it within a transitional period for DC's continuity.
