Where it came from
Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft, often referred to by collectors as the DDSH, is a long-running German comic series published by Ehapa. Launched in the 1960s, the series was designed to provide a dedicated home for high-quality Disney stories, often highlighting the work of acclaimed creators like Carl Barks and later Don Rosa. These issues became a cornerstone of the German-speaking comic market, bridging the gap between mass-market weekly magazines and more serious collector-focused graphic novels.
Issue #145 reflects the series' commitment to curated storytelling, featuring a collection of tales that lean into the classic slapstick and adventurous spirit of the Duck universe. By the time this issue was released, the format had solidified its reputation for quality translation and consistent artistic direction, maintaining the distinct visual identity established by the Disney Studio artists. It is regarded by collectors as a reliable example of the mid-period output that cemented the magazine's cultural longevity in Germany.
