Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft #193

Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft, often referred to as DDSH, is a long-running German comic series published by Ehapa Verlag since 1965. Originally conceived to reprint the high-quality Disney comic material that did not fit into the standard Micky Maus weekly magazine, the series focused heavily on the works of Carl Barks. Issue #193, released in the late 1980s, continues this tradition by presenting classic Donald Duck adventures formatted for a dedicated German readership that prized the more expansive, character-driven storytelling of the Barks era.

The design of the series evolved from early experimental anthologies into a distinct, pocket-sized aesthetic that became a staple of German newsstands. By the time of issue #193, the cover art typically leaned into the established House style maintained by Disney’s licensing artists, utilizing recognizable poses and vibrant colors to capture the essence of the Duck family. The series is regarded by collectors as a foundational pillar of European Disney comics, noted for its consistent editorial quality and its role in preserving the legacy of creators like Barks and later contributors like Don Rosa.
