Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft #91

Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft, often abbreviated as DDSH, is a long-running German comic series published by Ehapa. Launched in the 1960s, the series was designed to bring high-quality, long-form Disney stories to the German market, often featuring work by renowned creators like Carl Barks and Vicar. Issue #91, published during the 1980s, fits into this established tradition of thematic storytelling that prioritized the adventures of Donald Duck and the residents of Duckburg, reflecting the publisher's commitment to translated American material combined with European-produced content.

The editorial strategy behind these Sonderhefte was to provide a distinct reading experience from the weekly Micky Maus-Magazin, focusing on longer narratives and a more sophisticated presentation. Issue #91 reflects the collaborative efforts of the Disney editorial team at Ehapa, who curated scripts and artwork to resonate with the German audience's preference for Barks-style humor and adventure. While specific creator credits for individual short segments in the late-run issues can be complex due to the mix of international contributors, the series as a whole is highly regarded by collectors for its consistent editorial quality and preservation of classic Disney comic artistry.
