Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft #90

The 'Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft' series was a cornerstone of Ehapa Verlag’s German-language Disney publishing program. Launched in the mid-1960s, these square-bound, pocket-sized softcover books served as a curated anthology for the most popular Donald Duck adventures originally serialized in American comic strips and comic books. They were designed to provide German readers with a recurring, high-quality format that collected the best narrative work from the Disney studio stables, often emphasizing the classic slapstick and adventurous spirit of the character.

Issue number 90 represents a specific entry in this long-running series, reflecting the editorial transition of the late 1970s and 1980s when the format moved to standardize its classic black-and-white or limited-color comic presentations. The contents were primarily driven by the prolific output of artists like Carl Barks or the subsequent international studio teams who maintained the house style. The series was exceptionally well-received by the German public, becoming a staple of newsstands and a formative reading experience for generations, ultimately helping to establish Disney comics as a permanent fixture of German pop culture.
