Disney Villains: Gaston #5

Disney Villains: Gaston #5 is part of a limited comic book miniseries published by Dynamite Entertainment, which began its run in 2023. The series was designed to expand upon the backstory of the primary antagonist from the 1991 film Beauty and the Beast, aiming to provide a more nuanced look at his motivations and the events that shaped his personality before the arrival of the Beast. The narrative explores his past as a local hero and hunter in his village, bridging the gap between his perceived status as a champion and his eventual villainous descent.

The creative team behind the series sought to maintain the visual consistency of the original animation while adapting the characters to a serialized comic format. The artwork was crafted to capture the bold, athletic physicality of Gaston, reflecting his arrogance and vanity through expressive panel layouts. The series was received by fans and critics as a notable expansion of the Disney Villains franchise, fitting into the broader publishing initiative by Dynamite to explore the lore of various iconic antagonists through a modern graphic medium.
