Disney Villains: Gaston #3

Disney Villains: Gaston #3 was published by Dynamite Entertainment as part of a limited comic book series exploring the backstory of the primary antagonist from the 1991 film Beauty and the Beast. Released to satisfy a modern interest in villain-centric narratives, the series seeks to bridge the gap between Gaston's status as a local hero in his village and his eventual descent into obsessive villainy, contextualizing his motivations beyond the events of the original animation.

The creative direction for the series focuses on expanding the lore of the Beast’s kingdom and the specific social dynamics of Gaston's hometown. While the character is defined by his vanity and arrogance, the writers and illustrators involved in this run aimed to craft a psychological profile that remains consistent with his established onscreen persona while adding depth through new supporting characters and plot developments that were not present in the source film.
