Dragon Ball Chāo: Qīlóngzhū Chāo #13

Dragon Ball Super, known in its original Japanese serialization as Dragon Ball Chāo, represents the formal continuation of Akira Toriyama's seminal martial arts saga. Following the conclusion of Dragon Ball Z, the series was developed to bridge the narrative gap within the established timeline, with Toriyama providing the foundational plot outlines and character designs while Toyotarou took on the role of primary illustrator. The series debuted in V-Jump magazine in 2015, reflecting a shift toward serialized monthly manga chapters that expanded the cosmic scope of the original canon.

Issue #13 is a significant installment within the Universe Survival Arc, capturing the high-stakes tension of the Tournament of Power. Toyotarou's artistic approach during this period is characterized by a tighter, more modern line work that pays homage to Toriyama's dynamic action sequences while incorporating the complex transformations and power-scaling necessary for the Super era. The chapter was well-received by fans for its focus on character interactions between the diverse multiversal participants, solidifying the manga's role as a distinct yet complementary iteration of the Dragon Ball legacy.
