Dragon Ball Chāo: Qīlóngzhū Chāo #6

Dragon Ball Super, known in its localized Chinese-language serialization as Dragon Ball Chāo, began publication in 2015 as a direct continuation of Akira Toriyama's original Dragon Ball manga. Issue number 6 falls within the early stages of the series' run, which was designed to bridge the narrative gap following the conclusion of the Majin Buu saga. The series was conceptualized by Toriyama, with illustrative duties handled by Toyotarou, who was tasked with maintaining the aesthetic legacy of the franchise while adapting to a modern serialized format.

The production of the manga was intended to accompany the Dragon Ball Super anime, providing a complementary retelling and expansion of the new story arcs. Toyotarou's design approach prioritized dynamic action sequences and character consistency, aiming to capture the energy of Toriyama's original work. The reception of these early chapters was characterized by a mix of curiosity and scrutiny from long-term fans, as the community evaluated how the new material would honor the established lore and character development of the decades-old series.
