Dragon Ball Chāo: Qīlóngzhū Chāo #8

Dragon Ball Super, known in its localized Chinese title as Qīlóngzhū Chāo, serves as the direct sequel to the iconic Dragon Ball Z series. This specific issue captures a segment of the narrative overseen by creator Akira Toriyama and illustrated by Toyotarou, who was personally selected by Toriyama to handle the manga adaptation. The series was designed to expand the multiverse established in the Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F' films, introducing new deities and cosmic hierarchies that deepened the lore while retaining the high-energy combat central to the franchise.

Issue #8 continues the intense Tournament of Destroyers arc, pitting the warriors of Universe 7 against those of Universe 6. The design language here balances Toyotarou’s evolving, cleaner art style with the kinetic, expressive character designs established by Toriyama decades prior. Upon release, the manga was received as a necessary bridge for fans seeking more canonical depth following the franchise's long hiatus, solidifying its place in contemporary shonen history as a pivotal chapter for both new audiences and long-time enthusiasts.
