Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken - Shinsō Sairokuban #22

The Shinsō Sairokuban edition of Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken was published between 2020 and 2021 to coincide with the release of the 2020 television anime adaptation. This particular volume, issue number 22, is part of a larger set that compiles the original 1989 manga series created by writer Riku Sanjo and artist Koji Inada. The series was originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, and this reissue was designed to introduce a new generation of readers to the classic fantasy adventure while providing a high-quality collection for long-time fans.

Koji Inada’s illustrations for this series are celebrated for their dynamic sense of action and character expressiveness, which were heavily influenced by the aesthetic of the Dragon Quest video game series. The Shinsō Sairokuban format features refreshed cover art and internal layouts intended to highlight Inada’s distinct linework. Upon its release, this archival edition was well-received by the manga community for its readability and the inclusion of supplemental material that honors the history of the original work.
