Eriko-kun, Ocha!! #2

Eriko-kun, Ocha!! is a series of manga volumes released during the mid-1980s that captured the lighthearted, slice-of-life humor prevalent in Japanese shōnen and seinen magazines of the era. The series centers on the character Eriko and his everyday antics, fitting into a lineage of gag manga that prioritize slapstick comedy and expressive character designs. It was published during a period when independent or shorter-run series often provided a platform for artists to experiment with surreal, character-driven narratives.

The visual style of the series reflects the aesthetic conventions of 1980s manga, utilizing bold line work and dynamic paneling to emphasize comedic timing. Like many similar titles from this time, the production was intended for a youth audience looking for episodic entertainment. While it remains a niche entry in the landscape of vintage manga, it serves as a representative example of the era's focus on character-centric humor and accessible, serialised storytelling.
