Excalibur #125

Excalibur #125, published in September 1998, serves as the final issue of the original Excalibur series. Created by writer Ben Raab and artist Dale Eaglesham, this concluding chapter aimed to wrap up the long-running adventures of the British-based superhero team, bringing closure to various subplots that had developed since the title's inception in 1988.

The issue is notable for its reflective tone, as it transitions the characters toward the next phase of their publication history, particularly leading into the team's eventual dissolution and the dispersal of its members into other X-Men titles. While the series had seen numerous creative shifts over its decade-long run, this finale attempted to provide a sense of finality for readers who had followed the team through their unique blend of mutant action and multiversal exploration.
