Excalibur #94

Excalibur #94, published in 1996, serves as a pivotal entry in the long-running Marvel Comics series centered on the British-based mutant superhero team. Coming out during the mid-nineties, the issue reflects the era's transition in narrative tone and art style, fitting into the wider X-Men publishing line as the team grappled with the aftermath of the Age of Apocalypse crossover and shifting membership rosters.

The issue features art by Joe Madureira, whose stylized, manga-influenced aesthetic became a defining look for Marvel titles during this decade. Known for his kinetic panel layouts and exaggerated character proportions, Madureira's work on this run helped revitalize interest in the title among contemporary readers. The narrative, written by Warren Ellis, continues the sophisticated, often satirical approach to superhero storytelling that became a hallmark of his tenure on the series.
