Fairy Tail - 100 Years Quest #1

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest #1 was released in 2018 as the official sequel to Hiro Mashima's long-running shonen manga series, Fairy Tail. Published by Kodansha, the series was conceived as a direct continuation following the conclusion of the original saga, with Mashima providing the storyboard while passing the illustration duties to Atsuo Ueda. The narrative picks up immediately after the events of the original series, focusing on Natsu Dragneel and his team as they embark on a legendary, century-long mission that had never been successfully completed.

Atsuo Ueda's artistic approach aimed to maintain visual continuity with Mashima's iconic character designs while evolving the action sequences to suit the higher stakes of the new quest. Upon its release, the volume was met with enthusiasm from the existing fan base, serving as a successful bridge that allowed the franchise to retain its core audience while expanding its fantasy world-building. Its design and execution were received as a respectful tribute to the original work, effectively balancing nostalgia with new narrative progression.
